The first meeting of the Neighborhood Watch Committee was held in June and has been approved by the Board Trustees.  Wentzville Police Department will be installing a sign at the three main entrances soon.  This Committee only acts as an extra set of "eyes and ears" for the Police Department.  There is no patrolling or other duties.  We will be participating in the National Light Out on August 2 next year where we will meet with other neighbors, along with police officers and city officials.  If you see suspicious activity, you should call either the non-emergency number of 636/327-5105 or 911 if emergency .  Members include Mary Lou Aalbers, Cyrilla Ball, Peg Bottorff, Betty Jarvis, Pat Kilroy-Govero, Carol Miller, Maureen & Juergen Murray-Barthelme, Jessica Nevels, Pat Schwent, Jami Star Westhoff, and Bev & David Zulauf.  For additional information, contact Betty Jarvis @636/332-2296.

The nationwide Neighborhood Watch program was originally started in 1970 by a concerned citizen and neighbor of a crime victim.  The Bear Creek Neighborhood Watch was formed in 2016 to encourage homeowners to be alert and to be an extra set of "eyes and ears" for the police.  We have representatives/captains on some of our streets now, but we're always looking for neighbors who would like to volunteer.  We have a couple of meetings a year and sponsor the National Night Out program.  This event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7, 2018, 6-9 p.m.  Plan to attend and meet some of your new neighbors and socialize with the ones you already know!  For additional information, contact Betty Jarvis at 636-332-2296.
